From the seated position, crutch users need their crutches standing up and facing them ready to be gripped. While the infirm, injured or disabled person is seated, they need to be able to reach out and touch the crutch grips and use those crutches to help them stand up. Users are fully dependent on their walking aids.
The StanZa holder gives immediate access. Anyone with a leg problem(s) needs to be able to raise themselves from or lower themselves onto a bed or a chair. Everyday physical challenges will include the use of the bathroom and WC.
But without somewhere safe to ‘park’ those cumbersome crutches, they can never safely be placed or retrieved. When body and limb movements are compromised, people shouldn’t have to worry where to place those crutches or how to access them again. We all know that fallen crutches create their own trip hazard.
In the domestic setting, people need their crutches right by them. Next to a favourite chair, in the kitchen, by their bed or in the bathroom. Gone are the days when the crutch user needs to call out to a carer to bring them their crutches. With the StanZa, they will be close at hand. This makes the user independent and often hastens recovery.
